We could all use a little help getting in shape before summer, so how about slimming down with some of these detox water recipes to give yourself an extra boost. Besides being low on calories, these healthy waters are a much better choice than sugary sodas and flavored iced teas that can sabotage your weight loss goals. Make a batch and keep ’em in the fridge so they’re ready when you want to quench your thirst!

Strawberry Detox Water

Our recipe for strawberry detox water is one of our staff favorites. Who doesn’t love strawberries?!? They’re full of antioxidants that researchers at UCLA have discovered help clean out our blood and our system. And there’s also basil in this yummy water and this green herb helps clean out and detox the liver. Wow!

Cucumber Mint Detox Water

Cucumbers are always a welcome addition to any detox diet because they help flush out all of the toxins with their hydrating properties. To make this healthy water, slice a cucumber in a gallon of water, add a handful of mint sprigs, and add some sliced limes. Let sit overnight for the flavors to meld. The mint not only adds a bit of sweet, but it also has cleansing properties and promotes healthy digestion. Good for getting all of those toxins on the move and out of your body and skin!

Lemon Ginger Detox Water

If you aren’t already drinking lemon water every day, you definitely should since there’s so many health benefits like better skin and a healthy immune system. But to give your system a boost and detox from any toxins that have worked their way into your diet, try this recipe. The added ginger helps boost your metabolism and helps clean out your digestive tract. Simply soak some lemon slices and fresh ginger pieces in purified water for a few hours and you have a great healthy drink.

Watermelon Detox Water

Probably the easiest one of the bunch, this recipe just requires that you chop up some watermelon and add it to a pitcher of cold water. We know you’ll probably munch on a few pieces during prep – but that’s okay! Watermelon is one of the best detoxing fruits around. That’s because one of watermelon’s key compounds is the phytonutrient known as lycopene. It’s an extraordinarily strong antioxidant, while also having awesome anti-inflammatory effects. And don’t forget about the abundance of amino acids that are also in this pretty red fruit to aid in blood flow and cardiovascular well-being. Wow!

Blueberry Lavender Detox Water

Probably the prettiest water of the bunch, this recipe makes a great addition at your weekend brunch. Just add a cup of blueberries and a few tablespoons of dried lavender to a pitcher of ice water and there you go! This picturesque detox drink features blueberries that naturally expel unwanted toxins while releasing ample B vitamins into your system. And don’t forget about lavender’s cleansing properties; the name itself comes from the Latin word meaning “to wash”. We know this recipe will be your new favorite!

So make some room in your refrigerator for all of your pitchers after checking out these detox water recipes. We’re thirsty already!
