It’s Game Time! Our Top Healthy Appetizers

Super Bowl is almost here and it’s gonna be the season for appetizers, dips, and snacks that can derail any well-intentioned diet plan. But you don’t have to munch on celery sticks all day to enjoy the fun – make some of our top healthy appetizers and share these nutritious AND delicious recipes with your friends. That’s a win-win in our playbook!

1. Buffalo Chicken Lettuce Wraps

Steer clear of fried wings and opt for these healthy wraps instead! They’re packed full of flavor and one of the star ingredients is quinoa. We use it in a bunch of our recipes because it’s one of those superfoods that has tons of nutrients like protein, fiber, and vitamin E. Now that’s a winner!

2. Thai Crispy Lettuce Wraps

These are always a restaurant favorite and a definite crowd pleaser because they are so tasty. Ours are on the low-sodium side, so you don’t have to worry about that and a key ingredient is tofu, which is naturally gluten-free. Tofu is also a great source of protein, iron, and calcium, which are all things that most of us need more of in our diets!

3. Vegetable Fries & Spicy Avocado Dip

Need more veggies? Well here is your star player! This appetizer pairs carrots, sweet potatoes, and yucca with a spicy avocado dip that is irresistible. Carrots have tons of health benefits like vitamin B8, folate, and potassium and the yucca has lots of phytonutrients that help with arthritis and inflammatory issues as well as preventing cardiovascular issues. We’ll take it!

4. Coconut Curry Cashew Chicken Fingers

When you’re looking for appetizers that are tasty and will please everyone, do you think it’s hard to find stuff that’s not fried? Well we’ve got the perfect recipe for you! This recipe packs in the flavor with curry and fiber-rich coconut flakes and is baked, not fried, so you can enjoy this party pleasing appetizer.

5. Chipotle Chicken Sweet Potato Skins

We love this makeover of a happy hour favorite that switches out just a few ingredients to make a heart healthy appetizer. One of our favorite superfoods, sweet potato, is the star of this delicious dish. Sweet potatoes pack in fiber, manganese, vitamins A & C, and a medley of B vitamins. Wow! Sounds like this yummy dish is gonna be a crowd favorite with all of these added nutrients!

6. Crispy Baked Asparagus Fries

Need more greens in your diet? Well this yummy appetizer is perfect for you! Asparagus is the main ingredient and with all of its health benefits, we’re happy to have some more. Asparagus has nutrients that make it a natural detoxifier, as well as antioxidants that help slow the aging process. But what makes us love this dish even more is that it has a bit of a crunch and yummy flavor from that breadcrumb and parmesan cheese mix. Sounds like a winning combo to us!
