Maca is a root that is grown in Peru. It’s high in vitamins and minerals, and provides all types of health benefits. While often used in smoothies, it’s great in this filling Maca oatmeal breakfast.Serves 2 Prep time: 20 minutes.
- 1/2 cup steel cut oats
- 1 cup water
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 tablespoon maca powder
- 1/2 cup blueberries
- 1/2 cup sliced almonds
- Put the oats and water in a small saucepan and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low and cook for 10-15 minutes, until oats are tender, stirring often. Stir in the milk and maca powder and continue cooking for about 5 more minutes.
- Serve topped with the almond and blueberries.
