How to Make Your New Year’s Resolutions a Reality

fat-loss

We’re well into the New Year now and for most people, the well intentioned resolutions that were set on New Year’s Day have already fallen by the wayside. If your goals have gone the way of the dodo, or are hanging on by a thread, it’s time to grab ahold of the wheel again and get back on the road to success. Here are a few simple tips to get you back on track.

The Little Things Count

We are defined by the decisions we make. That includes large decisions as well as smaller daily decisions. In fact, it’s the small decisions you make throughout your day that shape the path of your life. Small changes repeated constantly over time mean big changes in the long run.

Create Healthy New Habits

Whether it’s a weight loss program, a fitness challenge, or something else, it is important to take a look at where you are now, and the daily habits that brought you to this place. Equally important to know is that the past does not equal the future. That means, if you fell off the wagon a hundred times before, it does not mean that you will fail again. Make this the time that you move past and through the sticking points on your journey to success.

Now is the time to figure out what you need to do to reach your goals. Next, break the big objective down into smaller, more mentally manageable chunks. Break those chunks down yet further into a list of daily habits you need to seriously adopt if you want to reach your target.

It’s also helpful to keep track of your daily habits. You can create a list and check off activities as you complete them. This will give you a much needed sense of accomplishment. Add some rewards for completing each week’s habits faithfully and you’ll be well on your way to creating solid new habits.

Take Back Your Power

You are in charge of you. Focus on the small habits, and perform them daily.

Your weight loss program is a success as long as you are moving forward. Replace bad habits with good ones. When it comes to your diet program, this is a doable task. There are many amazing variations of higher fat and calorie dishes that have been transformed into slimmed down versions. Use all these handy recipes to your advantage. For example, try this protein packed snack to boost your mood, strengthen your resolve, and get you the protein you need to stay strong and achieve your goals.

Greek Delight

1 cup organic fat free Greek yogurt
2 packets Truvia (or Stevia)
1 scoop chocolate or vanilla protein powder
1/4 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1/4 cup toasted slivered almonds
1/8 cup organic dark chocolate chips

Mix yogurt, stevia, protein and vanilla until blended. Toast slivered almonds until lightly browned. Sprinkle yogurt mix with almond slivers and chocolate chips.

Delicious snacks like the one above will leave you wondering why you ever thought it would be hard to eat healthy nutritious foods. With so many helpful tools at your fingertips, you almost can’t help but succeed in this New Year.
