Our List of Under 100 Calorie Snacks

One of the biggest mistakes people make when dieting is starving themselves and then overeating once they finally sit down to eat. Don’t become a victim of this unhealthy cycle, and carry nutritious snacks with you to help curb the cravings in between meals. Our list of under 100 calorie snacks will get you on the right track!

1. Bagel

Don’t down the whole bagel from the corner cafe, but opt for 1 ounce, which is usually half of the bagel, and is about 75 calories. Keep it light by topping it with a veggie spread or hummus instead of fattening cream cheese for a low calorie, yet tasty snack.

2. Popcorn

Enjoy this movie night treat the healthy way. Three cups of air-popped popcorn has about 90 calories. Sprinkle that with your favorite spices like cumin, garlic powder, veggie salt, or a mixture to give it some extra kick.

3. Pretzels

Need some crunch? A handful of small pretzels(about 8) equals 55 calories. Pair this with a slice of low-fat cheese or hummus dip and you’ve got a healthy snack to nosh on!

4. Fruit

There’s a wide range here, so pick your favorites or mix it up so you don’t get bored! A medium apple has about 80 calories, a medium apricot has 20, half a banana will give you 55 calories, and a cup of fresh pineapple will give you about 75 calories.

5. Veggies

Same goes for your vegetables – change it up so that you get your nutrients, and enjoy your favorites with a low-calorie dip or dressing. A large, raw carrot has about 30 calories, cucumber slices(about 10) will give you 20 calories, and a 2 ounce baked potato(without toppings) will give you 65 calories.

6. Say Cheese

Pair a low calorie cheese with some of the above snacks for a tasty mid-day snack. Two tablespoons of fat-free cream cheese will net you 30 calories, a 1 ounce stick of skim string cheese is about 70 calories, and 1 ounce reduced fat cheddar cheese will give you 80 calories.

7. Sweet Tooth

Everyone needs a sweet treat now and then, so indulge in a low calorie option to feel satisfied and stay on track with your weight loss goals. A quarter cup of sorbet has about 55 calories, while the same size ice cream has about 70 calories. Or indulge in a half ounce piece of dark chocolate for about 85 calories and enjoy these health benefits!

8. Nuts Over You!

Snacking on a handful of nuts is a healthy option, too. Here’s some of our favorites! About 12 almonds will net you 85 calories, while 2 tablespoons of pumpkin seeds gives you 95. About 2 dozen peanuts or pecans will give you about 85 calories.
