BLT… whaaaat?? The “ALT” or Avocado Lettuce Tomato sandwich is the NEW healthy & delicious spin on an old classic!!

Ingredients
  1. 2 tbsp. fat-free mayonnaise
  2. 2 slices of whole grain bread (with flaxseed optional) toasted
  3. 4 large leaves of romaine or Boston lettuce
  4. ½ large ripe tomato thinly sliced
  5. ½ sliced peeled avocado
  6. 12 very thin slices of cucumber
  7. 1-2 slices of reduced fat, swiss cheese (optional)
Instructions
  1. Spread Mayonnaise on the 2 slices of bread (for one person, for two people double ingredients)
  2. Layer the “bottom” slice with lettuce, tomato, avocado, cucumber and cover with slice of cheese (You can also put one slice of cheese on each side of the bread for a “cheesier” sandwich)
  3. Slice sandwich diagonally and ENJOY!
