Ingredients
  1. 1 pound green beans, ends trimmed
  2. 2 tablespoons low sodium soy sauce
  3. 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  4. 2 teaspoons sugar, honey, or other sweetener
  5. 1/4 to 1/2 tsp hot chili flakes, depending on your heat preference
  6. 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  7. 1 tablespoon olive or sesame oil
  8. 1-2 tablespoons garlic, minced
  9. 1-2 tablespoons fresh ginger, minced
Instructions
  1. Fill a large pot with water and bring to a boil. Blanch the green beans for 3-5 minutes, then drain and place in an ice bath to prevent them from continuing to cook. After the green beans have cooled, drain them.
  2. In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, rice vinegar, sugar, chili flakes and pepper. Heat the oil in a large saute pan over medium heat. Cook the green beans, garlic and ginger until lightly browned, about 1 minute.
  3. Stir in the soy sauce mixture and bring to a boil. Cook until most of the liquid has been absorbed and coats the green beans, about 2 minutes. Serve and enjoy!
