It’s not that hard and its not that complicated. The changes you need to make to lose weight and reduce your body fat are much smaller than you fear and they are easier to live with than you could possibly imagine! A common sense approach involving exercise and nutrition is all that is required to lose body fat.

If you have been living a sedentary lifestyle and over eating for some time, you not only have excess body fat but you have also lost critical, metabolism boosting muscle.

Don’t worry, we are going to fix both. First, we want to target the fat loss. We want you to reach most of your weight loss goal before you start trying to add back the muscle. More on that in a bit.

When most people think about losing weight, what comes to mind is words like “hunger”, “deprivation”, “diet”, and “agony”.

Losing weight properly will not result in any of these, the key is in the above two words “common sense”. Most of the fad diets out there are unhealthy, dangerous or both and lead to deprivation and hunger which eventually leads to binging and guilt – the typical unhealthy yo-yo weight loss pattern. What we want is permanent weight loss! Yo-yo dieting is way too much work, just learn to make some simple healthy substitutions and and the weight comes off and stays off for good.

Your body is capable of making amazing changes. You can literally turn back the clock in a matter of a few months and erase years of premature aging.

Let’s talk about expectations.

A good weight loss program will let you lose the weight gradually, a pound or two a week on average is a good rate. The Viance Program aims for the max of 2+ pounds a week. Yes, you can lose more than that but we do not recommend it as it is generally not sustainable over the long term.

While were on this subject, a GOOD weight loss program will focus on your health also. Getting jacked-up on caffeine is only going to over-stimulate your nervous system and cause your body stress which leads to premature aging. Taking weight loss supplements that are full of artificial sweeteners and preservatives is not going to help you rebuild healthy new cell growth.

So, what does it take to lose a pound of fat? A pound of fat is equal to roughly 3,500 calories. So to lose a pound of fat, you are going to have to burn off or cut out 3,500 calories. That’s 500 calories a day to lose 1 pound a week. We’re after 2 pounds a week so we are looking at 1,000 calories a day. This is where the nutrition and exercise comes into play. If you try to cut out 1,000 calories a day from just your diet, you will be hungry, fatigued and depressed. You are going to have to add some form of cardio exercise to achieve this goal. If you are 50lbs overweight count on 6 months to a year to remove the fat and tone up your muscles. Losing fat at this gradual rate means you will never be starving or feel deprived. Another reason to lose the weight gradually is so that you don’t burn off the muscle you do have – you need muscle for a good metabolism and it’s harder to add muscle than lose fat!

Also, there is no such thing as spot fat removal. You cant ‘target’ fat removal unless you are using a machete or liposuction. All you can do is lose weight and let the body decide where the fat is coming off. When you have lost enough weight, the belly and love handles will disappear. And make no mistake, they will disappear!
